—IN PRODUCTION—
Keep an eye on our socials for production updates! We apologize for the long production time, and gaps between updates—we are group ordering with 3 other zines for bulk discounts, so manufacturing times are a little longer, and our Shipping Mod was silly (dumb) and overscheduled herself so is currently neck-deep shipping "let's start a RIOT" and "TSUKUYOMI" leftovers :'DShipping will be taking place for EMic in early 2025!
"Something Just Like This" is an EraserMic zine focusing on their romantic relationship. Their "found family" children Shinsou and Eri will also be featured in the main zine. This project will involve a physical, printed zine with a digital PDF version containing fanart and fanfics. There will be also be physical as well as digital merchandise."Unequivocally" will be a NSFW side zine add-on which will feature only
Aizawa Shouta & Hizashi Yamada in a romantic, intimate context.

These two may be canonically younger than me now, but I have enough hip and back pain to consider myself old.Found family tropes are also really what gets me good—from the Briggs squad in FMA to these two dorky Dads & their adopted children, I love nothing more than people finding "home" in unexpected places.

FAQ
additional FAQ may be added as the project progresses
Can I use AI for my art/writing?
No. Any use of AI will get you immediately disqualified from apps, kicked from the zine, and blocked from the project. We do not support AI tech for art/writing in any way, shape, or form.
How do I make a google drive folder?
You can find Google Drive tutorials Here
What is EraserMic?
EraserMic is the romantic relationship ("ship") between Aizawa Shouta ("Eraserhead") and Hizashi Yamada ("Present Mic") from the manga & anime series Boku no Hero Academia by Horikoshi Kohei. We do not claim any ownership whatsoever over these characters—we just love them and want to make a fan project to display that love :D
Can my portfolio contain NSFW?
Yes–we do have a NSFW add-on, after all. We simply request you put any NSFW pieces in their own folder, and name the folders with any necessary trigger warnings.
Are we required to have an erasermic example?
No. We will require at least ONE sample that has EITHER Aizawa OR Mic in it. It would be very nice to see how you represent them as a pair, though, so please do include it if you have it! Not having an EraserMic sample will not hurt your application in any way—but having no example containing EITHER of them may get you voted off the island. We WILL require at least one "ship" piece for writers—however, it does not need to be EraserMic.
Is this zine for charity or for profit?
This project will be for profit. Funds will first be used to fulfill all orders and cover full bundles for each contributor as compensation. Any leftover funds after that will be split evenly among the contributors.
How many page artists / merch artists / writers will you be accepting?
This will depend upon interest check results! We need to keep the project manageable from both a modding and financial standpoint. An estimate may be made once IC closes, but exact numbers will not be decided until the time of application judging. The contributor count will likely be between 30-50 contributors, not including the mod team. We will not be able to provide more detailed information than that at this time, thank you for understanding!
Will you be opening moderator applications?
Nope! Our Mod Team is complete <3
Will you email applicants regardless of acceptance?
Everyone will get an email response to the email address provided in their application, regardless of whether they are accepted as a contributor, accepted as a pinch hitter, or rejected from the project.
How will we submit files for check-ins and final submission?
Check-ins will be done by sharing Google Drive folder links in a google form, which will be provided to contributors at the beginning of each check-in. Please include your credit name in the file names & ensure share settings are set to “view by anyone with the link!”
Please put your name on your files :)
Please :')
Can you ship the zine and merch internationally?
Yep! Our only shipping restrictions will be to country-specific postal closings.
Why is shipping so expensive?
Because we cannot have nice things [insert crycat emoji here]Believe me, if we could, we would offer cheaper shipping. We do use Simple Export Rates through Pirate Ship, however, to reduce the costs as much as we can.
Will there be leftover sales?
Once shipping is complete and we are positive all customers and contributors have received their goodies, we will open a store to sell remaining stock! There is no promises on what or how many will be remaining but we will be able to have at least some. Keep an eye on socials for any announcements related to the timing of leftovers - it depends wholly on production & shipping times.
Will applicants be judged based on the content they create outside of the zine?
No. What you create and enjoy is your own business. Ship and let ship. As long as you love EraserMic, you're welcome here. Our only real restriction is we do not wish to work with people who harass or bully others online. We would like a positive, friendly community surrounding this project. Thank you for your understanding!
